VANITAS MACHINE

Based on a candle which – by means of technical intervention – burns down very slowly, the installation VANITAS MACHINE addresses the desire for eternal life and the potential of life-prolonging measures.

CELLULAR PERFORMANCE

Skin cells have been manipulated to grow into predefined patterns and recorded via time-lapse imaging techniques. The cells are forming up to legible text fragments and disperse again over time — visualizing terms culled from the advertising language of care products industry.

TRANSDUCERS

An installation composed of several laboratory glass devices that generate audible signals based on a previously encapsuled biological component – a human hair.

ENDO

A black box that records every detail of its surroundings, but only reveals its own speculative presence.

HOLE IN ONE

An abstract miniature golf course becomes the conceptual playground of a philosophical as well as humorous investigation about the nature of thinking.

Fadeaway

A garment´s shimmery surface opens up a view onto a microscopic layer of the human body which usually remains invisible to the eye of the observer.

UMBRELLA BOT

An ordinary umbrella has been turned into a spider-like robotic creature, that´s subsequently moving around in exhibition space fulfilling its new purposes.
